Questions

Tarion New Home Warranty questions

Why inspect a brand-new home?

A newly built home can still have visible defects, incomplete items, damaged finishes, or installation concerns. An independent inspection documents visible deficiencies that may need to be discussed with the builder or included in the applicable Tarion warranty process.

When should I book it?

Around your applicable Tarion submission window, with enough time left to submit your items. Confirm your own dates in your Tarion MyHome account.

Is this the same as the builder's PDI?

No. The pre-delivery inspection is a walkthrough run with the builder. This is an independent review of the home's visible condition with no interest in the outcome. Many homeowners do both.

What do I receive afterward?

You receive an interactive digital report organized by property system, with a summary of flagged findings, supporting photographs and media, and a downloadable PDF. Expected timing is confirmed at booking.

How long does it take?

Timing depends on the property's size, age, condition, access, and services selected. The estimated duration is confirmed with your appointment.
